Warranty & Safety Policy

1. Intended Use and Operating Limits

The Pro Video products are camera support accessories designed for filmmaking, photography, and content creation using consumer and prosumer cameras.

We do not restrict what you film. We define the conditions under which our products are tested and rated. Any use within these limits, on an approved surface, with the required supports fitted, is correct use. Any use outside these limits is outside our rating and at the user's sole risk.

Operating Limits for All Vehicle and Motion Use

• Maximum speed: 80 km/h (50 mph)
• Maximum total load in motion: 1.5 kg / 3.3 lb (camera plus all accessories)
• Dual-arm or dual-mount support is required. A single arm is not rated for any moving vehicle
• A secondary safety tether is required
• Approved surfaces only: clean, flat, rigid glass or painted metal (see Section 4)
• Action cameras only. No DSLR or mirrorless bodies on a suction base in motion

These limits apply regardless of what you are filming, where you are filming, or what the vehicle is doing. Higher speeds, heavier loads, unsupported single-arm setups, or non-approved surfaces are outside our rating and void warranty coverage.

Never Use Our Products For

• Suspending equipment over people, crowds, or public areas
• Industrial, structural, medical, aviation, or life-safety applications
• Supporting anything other than camera equipment
• Carrying human weight, or use as a handhold, step, or grab handle

These uses are prohibited outright and no rating applies to them.

2. Payload Ratings Are Binding

Each product page lists a maximum payload rating. These published ratings are the limit of our responsibility. They are measured under controlled conditions with correct installation on an approved surface.

Payload capacity is reduced significantly by motion, vibration, wind load, temperature, extended arm length, and lever-arm distance. A stationary rating does not apply while driving.

The 4.5 kg / 10 lb rating is a stationary rating only. It applies to studio, interior, tripod-equivalent, and parked-vehicle use where there is no motion or vibration. It does not apply to a moving vehicle under any circumstances.

Maximum total load in motion is 1.5 kg / 3.3 lb, with dual-arm support fitted. A single arm carrying a load on a moving vehicle is not rated and is not covered, at any weight.

Where components are combined, the lowest published rating in the assembly governs.

Products with no published in-motion rating must not be used on a moving vehicle. If a product page does not state a driving payload, the product is rated for stationary, interior, or studio use only.

Exceeding a published payload rating or speed limit voids the warranty and transfers all resulting risk to the user.

3. Mounting Orientation Affects Holding Capacity

Published payload ratings assume the mount is installed on a horizontal or near-horizontal surface with the load acting straight down through the base.

Vertical, angled, and overhead mounting significantly reduces safe working load. When a mount is placed on a vertical surface such as a side window or door panel, or at an angle, the camera's weight acts as a lever pulling the seal away from the surface rather than pressing into it. The steeper the angle and the further the camera sits from the base, the greater that leverage becomes. Vibration then amplifies it, which is how a mount that felt solid at standstill begins to shift, rock, and release.

For any vertical, angled, or overhead installation the user must:

• Reduce the load well below the published rating
• Keep the camera as close to the base as possible and avoid extension arms
• Use dual-arm or dual-mount support
• Fit a secondary safety tether
• Re-check the mount frequently during use

Determining a safe load for a given orientation is the user's responsibility. We publish ratings. We cannot assess your angle, your camera, or your surface.

4. Suction Cup Mount Surface Requirements

Suction mounts hold only under correct conditions. The user is solely responsible for cleaning and verifying the mounting surface before every use.

Approved surfaces, these only: clean, dry, smooth, flat, rigid, non-porous glass or painted metal.

Clean the surface before every installation. Remove dust, grit, road film, and moisture. A single grain of dust under the seal creates a leak path.

Never mount to:

• Curved, domed, or contoured surfaces. The seal cannot form correctly and the mount will release
• Steeply raked or sharply angled panels where the cup cannot sit flat
• Ceramic-coated surfaces. The coating prevents the seal from gripping and the mount can release easily
• Waxed, freshly polished, or sealant-treated surfaces
• Glass treated with rain repellent or water-beading coatings
• Wood, plastic, painted plastic trim, rubber, fabric, headliners, or any porous or flexible material
• Textured, matte, or satin surfaces
• Dirty, dusty, wet, icy, or oily surfaces
• Damaged, cracked, chipped, or previously repaired glass
• Any surface where the full circumference of the cup does not make continuous contact

Use with caution, at your own risk: paint protection film (PPF) and vinyl wrap. The mount can hold on these surfaces, but suction may leave a temporary ring mark or impression in the film. Remove the mount after each use rather than leaving it in place. The Pro Video INC is not responsible for cosmetic marks, discoloration, indentation, or film lifting on wrapped or filmed surfaces.

Suction performance is also reduced by heat, cold, altitude change, and time. Vibration from bumps, potholes, gravel, or uneven road surfaces reduces holding force on any suction mount from any manufacturer. Suction mounts lose holding force gradually and must be re-checked and re-pumped regularly during use.

5. Secondary Safety Tether Is Mandatory for Vehicle Use

A secondary safety tether or safety cable is required whenever any product is mounted to a moving vehicle, mounted on an exterior surface, mounted vertically or overhead, or positioned above a person or property.

This is standard practice across the camera support industry. No suction mount from any manufacturer, including ours, should ever be the only thing holding a camera on a moving vehicle.

Failure to use a secondary safety tether voids all warranty coverage and transfers full responsibility for any resulting loss or damage to the user.

6. Correct Installation and Tightening

All knobs, clamps, and threaded fittings are hand-tighten only. These are precision-machined aluminum components. Snug is sufficient.

• Never use pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, or any tool to tighten a knob or clamp
• Never apply leverage, extensions, or excessive force
• Over-tightening strips threads, deforms ball joints, and damages locking mechanisms
• Under-tightening allows creep, slip, and sudden drop of the camera
• Cross-threading a screw is user damage, not a defect

Damage caused by over-tightening, under-tightening, tool use, or cross-threading is not covered under warranty.

7. Required Pre-Use Check

Before every use, the user must confirm:

• The surface is clean and meets the requirements in Section 4
• The suction cup safety indicator shows full vacuum. Re-pump if any indicator band is visible
• All knobs and clamps are hand-tight and holding position
• Total camera and accessory weight is within the published rating for the intended condition and orientation
• Dual-arm support is fitted for any moving-vehicle setup
• A secondary safety tether is fitted for any vehicle, vertical, or overhead use
• No component shows cracks, thread damage, deformation, or a torn or hardened suction seal

Do a firm physical pull test before releasing the camera. If anything moves, do not use the mount.

8. Inspection on Arrival and Before Each Production

Inspect your equipment when it arrives. Before using any product on a paid shoot or production, unpack it, assemble it, and test it under load in a safe, controlled setting. Confirm that threads engage smoothly, knobs hold position, the suction seal is intact and undamaged, and the vacuum indicator holds over several minutes.

Report any defect within 7 days of delivery. Defects present on arrival are fully covered under our warranty, and we will replace the item free of charge. Contact us before using the product further.

Discovering a fault mid-production is not a basis for a claim beyond replacement of the product. We cannot be responsible for lost shoot time, rescheduled crews, missed footage, rental costs, or any other production loss arising from equipment that was not inspected and tested before the shoot. Professional practice is to check every piece of gear before a production day, and that responsibility rests with the user.

Re-inspect before every production, not only on arrival. Threads, seals, and locking mechanisms wear with use.

9. Hand-Assembled Products and Expected Service Life

Our components are CNC-machined from aluminum and stainless steel, then assembled and finished by hand. Minor cosmetic variation between units, such as slight differences in finish, anodizing tone, machining marks, or knob feel, is a normal characteristic of hand-assembled production and is not a defect.

No mechanical product lasts forever. Threads, friction locks, ball joints, springs, detents, and suction seals are working parts that wear with use, load cycles, heat, cold, and UV exposure. Suction seals in particular are a wear item and will harden and lose holding force over time, especially with frequent use or outdoor storage. This is normal wear, not a manufacturing defect, and is not covered once the warranty period ends.

Our warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for one year. It is not a guarantee of perpetual performance, and it does not extend to components that have reached the end of their service life through normal use.

Retire any component that shows cracks, deformation, damaged threads, a hardened or torn seal, or a lock that no longer holds. Continuing to use worn equipment is the user's decision and the user's risk.

10. Legal and Location Compliance

The user is solely responsible for complying with all applicable laws, including vehicle equipment laws, windshield obstruction laws, filming permits, and location or property rules. Mounting a camera where it obstructs the driver's view may be illegal in your jurisdiction. Do not exceed posted speed limits or the 80 km/h (50 mph) product limit, whichever is lower. Filming on public roads may require permits and insurance.

11. 1-Year Limited Warranty

The Pro Video INC warrants its physical products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship, under normal use as described in this policy, for one (1) year from the date of delivery to the original purchaser.

Covered:

• Threads that fail under normal hand-tight use
• Ball joints, clamps, or locking mechanisms that will not hold position when correctly adjusted
• Springs or detents that fail on their own
• Suction seal failure under approved surface conditions and correct use
• Finish or machining defects present on arrival

Free Replacement: If we confirm a manufacturing defect within the warranty period, we will supply a free replacement part or unit, including shipping, at no cost to you. For items under $40 you generally will not need to return anything.

Used correctly, within the published ratings and following the instructions in this policy, these products are built to perform reliably, and if one does not, we will replace it. What we cannot accept is responsibility for outcomes we do not control.

12. What Is Not Covered

This warranty does not cover, and The Pro Video INC accepts no responsibility for:

• Any use outside the Operating Limits in Section 1
• Exceeding 80 km/h (50 mph) in motion
• Exceeding 1.5 kg / 3.3 lb total load in motion
• Single-arm use on a moving vehicle at any weight. Dual-arm support is required
• Using the stationary rating while driving
• Vertical, angled, or overhead mounting at or near the published horizontal rating
• Use of a product on a moving vehicle where no in-motion rating is published
• Mounting to any surface excluded in Section 4, including curved, ceramic-coated, waxed, textured, dirty, wood, plastic, or flexible surfaces
• Failure to clean the surface before installation
• Cosmetic marks, indentation, or film lifting on PPF or vinyl-wrapped surfaces
• Use on a moving vehicle, vertically, or overhead without a secondary safety tether
• Mounting a DSLR, mirrorless, or any camera over 0.9 kg / 2 lb to a suction base in motion
• Over-tightening, tool use on knobs, cross-threading, or under-tightening
• Improper installation, assembly, or failure to perform the pre-use check in Section 7
• Failure to inspect and test equipment before a production, as described in Section 8
• Production losses of any kind, including lost shoot time, crew costs, rentals, or missed footage
• Minor cosmetic variation inherent to hand-assembled products
• Normal wear, cosmetic scratches, anodizing fade, or gradual loss of suction over the product's service life
• Drops, crashes, impacts, collisions, or accidents
• Modification, disassembly, machining, or repair by anyone other than The Pro Video INC
• Combination with third-party components not rated for the load
• Products purchased from unauthorized resellers, or transferred to a second owner
• Loss, theft, fire, weather, or force majeure
• Consumable or wear items, including suction seals after the warranty period

13. Assumption of Risk

Mounting camera equipment to vehicles and other surfaces carries inherent risk. By purchasing and using our products, you acknowledge and accept that you alone control the conditions of use, and that you are responsible for selecting, cleaning, and preparing the mounting surface, assessing whether the setup is safe for your specific camera, orientation, vehicle, and shooting conditions, staying within the published operating limits, fitting dual-arm support and a secondary safety tether, inspecting the equipment before each production, and verifying the setup before and during use.

We supply a component. We cannot inspect your surface, your camera weight, your mounting angle, your driving conditions, or your installation. Those decisions are yours.

Mechanical equipment can fail. Safety margin, redundancy, and inspection are the user's responsibility on every shoot.

14. Limitation of Liability

Our sole obligation under this warranty is, at our discretion, repair, replacement, or refund of the purchase price of the defective product.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, The Pro Video INC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages, including but not limited to damage to cameras, lenses, gimbals, monitors, vehicles, other equipment or property, or loss of footage, data, revenue, production time, or business, arising from the use, misuse, or failure of our products.

Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the purchase price paid for the product giving rise to the claim.

15. Indemnification for Commercial and Vehicle Use

If you use our products in a commercial production, on a public road, or in any setting involving third parties, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Pro Video INC from any claims, damages, or costs arising from your use, including claims by third parties, except to the extent caused by a proven manufacturing defect.

16. Your Legal Rights

California and United States: This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights which vary by state. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and California's Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, any implied warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the one (1) year term of this written warranty. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you. Nothing in this policy limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such limitation is prohibited by law.

European Union, including Italy: Consumers in the EU have a statutory right to a remedy for goods that are not in conformity with the contract for a period of two (2) years from delivery. This statutory right applies in addition to, and is not limited by, this warranty.

United Kingdom: Statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply in addition to this warranty.

17. How to Make a Claim

Email support@theprovideo.com with your order number, photos or a short video showing the issue, and a description of how the product was mounted and used. We review most claims within 2 business days and ship approved replacements immediately.

19. Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California, except where applicable consumer law grants you the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
